Safe Pet Foods

Some of the things they put in pet foods would scare you and are not needed to be in their food at all. Please read this and read the alerts on pet food recalls and human food recalls or E Coli Alerts and Contaminated Human Foods and Pet Food lists. If our food is not safe at the time and the pet Food Recipes call for that as an ingredient then the recipe is not safe! Do not give pets foods recalled on our recall food lists and make sure the meat and other ingredients are not on recalls or contaminated bad foods!

• GIVE THEM REAL CHICKEN COOKED. Chicken breast with no bone is a great choice.

• LIVE COOKED for your cat also is great. Cats love liver.

• PLAIN BROWN RICE. Cook the rice of course.

• Turkey is ok if  you give it to them at times also but, please cook the chicken and turkey before feeding it to your cat or dog so there is no salmonella risks. Also give them dark meat on the turkey.

• Try to give them the best quality of the meats with no preservatives. Try organically raised meats if at all possible when feeding your pet meats.

• Do not give them meats or foods spiced or with gravy ect. Some things are deadly to pets but, meats and foods listed here are said by many Vets ect. DO NOT ADD SALT OR SPICES ECT. DO NOT GIVE THEM MEATS ALREADY MADE WITH SUCH THINGS IN THEM!

• I look into things more than most and will not post anything without major research.

• I spoke to many Animal Hospitals, speaking to veterinarians, licensed pet experts and only the people that studied such things to verify the safe foods I use in all the recipes below. I reconfirmed each item 100 times with many different veterinarians.

• I am a pet owner that loves all animals & I am giving free advise to help your pets. I hope it also helps you to learn more and keep them safe and happy.

• I have spent years of my life with cats and dogs and all of them lived in their 20's or mid 20's. We never had this kind of pet food scare but, we always knew what to feed them and how to care for them.

• Now days we have to be even more careful on what is in pet foods. MY MAIN FOCUS IS TO GET LISTS HERE OF PET FOOD RECIPES THAT ARE SAFE PET FOODS FOR CATS AND DOGS.

   Some Vets that are programmed to tell us the main stream foods and such. I will tell you here what I have been feeding my baby kitten or shall we say cat. I will share with you some really great pet food recipes for your cats and dogs. These are like homemade pet food meals or gourmet pet food recipes as I guess some would call them. Hey we do not put a lot of chemical and bad things into our kids food so why should we do it to our pets. If you look at some of the ingredients in commercial pet foods you will find some of them use the veggies, meats and rice that I list in the foods below. The difference is that we are not adding the junk they use in fillers and preservatives or bad meat parts ect. We will be making our pets safe pet foods that they will love. I will finish some printing really quick then I will list safe pet foods. Not every VET will tell you the same cat foods are safe or same dog foods are safe and healthy for your pets. I will try to give the information on safe and healthy pet food and food products here. If you ask what cat foods and dog foods are safe today as I am writing this it is scary. I hope to tell you the best and healthy safe pet food products here. I will list all safe cat food and dog food products and the best safe pet food companies to the best of my knowledge. Read the pet alerts and recalled pet foods from the past and any current pet alerts on pet products and foods to be safe all the time. I will research heavy into any pet information before I post pet foods here. The link at the top of the page has a link called Pet Information written to explain in ways how I went about the confirmation of the pet foods being safe and healthy and even a bit more fun and interesting pet information for you to read. :) It also has pet webcams, pet art and more linked from there.

Below text in darker green is just my thoughts if you feel you have to feed them any type of commercial dry pet foods or wet foods. However keep in mind that even if they are not effected by a pet recall or associated with menu foods does not mean they are never going to have problems with pet food. The USA does not regulate pet foods as they do human foods! Always remember that! Also know that I have posted that text below in March of 2007 due to the Menu Foods Pet Recall to give people an option that is safe from this recall at the time. With commercial foods of any kind I say we never know what is 100% safe if we are not putting the ingredients in ourselves and cooking it.

   The only Dry Pet food I would look into or even consider would be Nature's Recipe foods but, there is never a guarantee that any commercial pet foods are safe. That is just the only one that I would trust or even consider. I have spoken to the people at Natures Recipe to make sure they still did not use Menu Foods or any company of that sort. Of course since the recall years ago Nature's Recipe had been bought out by Dole. (The E Coli alert was due to water used from California Suppliers that was just a bad event but, I do not hold Dole responsible or the many others involved in our food recall.) I never gave my cat Natures Recipe until well after Dole took it over.

   I started feeding my cat Nature's Recipe after I had her for about 4 months because, she got sick on any other type of commercial foods. With Nature's Recipe she did not get sick from the foods. Of course the pet foods listed on the Pet Food Recall of 2007 from Menu Foods were not foods I would even have considered feeding my cat! Even without the recall the ingredients are not healthy! Ingredients put into any commercial pet foods can be scary if you know how to read what they really are. To me the safest commercial pet food is  Nature's Recipe. They do not use anything of menu foods or other manufactures products in their foods but, still all pet foods have some of the same ingredients like, fillers, preservatives ect. Even if they do not all use the same fillers or types of preservatives it is still not a healthy choice

DANGEROUS PET FOOD OR NOT SO HEALTHY. Lower grade foods not so healthy even if they are not on a recall list ect.

• Friskies & Whiskas are lower grade foods. They do not have all the nutritional value needed for pets. There have been many cases where people have spoke of taking their pets to the Veterinarian after feeding them Friskies and they ended up with Gall Stones ect. Many veterinarians say these foods are not easy to digest also and of course our pets should eat as healthy as possible. My cat has got sick from eating Friskies when I could not make it to the pet store in time to get her decent pet food. When I started giving her Nature's Recipe (After the Major Nature's Recipe recall years back as seen on the alerts they were bought out by Dole), she started feeling and acting better. On that food the only time that she gets sick is seldom and it is hair balls then for sure.

• READ THE RECALL LIST ON ALERTS FOR THE PET FOOD RECALL BUT, KNOW THAT JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT LISTED DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE NOT EFFECTED!!!!!!

• ALSO JUST BECAUSE YOU DO NOT SEE THE BRAND OR HEAR ABOUT DRY FOOD AT THE TIME BEING EFFECTED OR BAD FOR THEM DOES NOT MEAN IT IS SAFE. I am sure later the dry food recalls will come out sadly. I have a great worry of this. (sorry if this is old by the time some find it but, this part on dry food was written in late March of 2007)

• Some human or people food is deadly and poison to pets. Do not give them things that you do not know are safe. Do not give your cat anything with salt, onions, garlic, tomatoes, grapes, chocolate, raisins, avocadoes, and many more dangers to look out for. Read the above box of safe foods and info there. There are too many dangers to list on giving human food to them so, I will only list what is safe.

• Too much tuna is bad for them also and is said can cause brain damage. They say a very small amount is ok like ONLY 1 table spoon every couple weeks (UNLESS THEY ARE PRONE TO URINARY TRACT PROBLEMS.) Therefore I would not recommend giving them tuna as their meat supply.
