ADVANCED MEDICAL PRODUCT RECALL ON CONTACT LENS SOLUTIONS? COMPLETE MOISTUREPLUS RECALLS MAY OF 2007
Advanced Medical Recall on Contact lens solutions Complete MoisturePlus. The Contact Lens Cleaning Solutions Recall was due to contact lens wearers reporting Serious Eye Infections! Advanced Medical is based out of Santa Ana, California but, the RECALL IS A WORLD WIDE RECALL ON THEIR PRODUCTS. The FDA claims that Advanced Medical distributed more than 57 million bottles of the recalled lens solutions worldwide. About half of the products recalled were sold in the United States. Some of the product recalls could be still in circulation and being used even though it is listed as one of the Alerts and world wide recalls on contact lens solutions.
Advanced Medical Optics Recall of Complete MoisturePlus was due to many cases of serious eye infections and the product recalls should be known to everyone. The Product Recall took place in May of 2007. Some people using the Complete MoisturePlus recalled products required corneal transplants. The outbreak was reported by the Federal Health Care Authorities.
Advanced Medical Optics recall was due to the MoisturePlus Contact Lens Solutions being unable to protect contact lens wearers from acanthamoeba. If you have this recalled product and are having problems with eye infections please see a doctor. If you have the recalled bottles do not use the contact lens solutions.
There were past recalls about a year before this Lens Solutions Recall. The past recalls were also due to eye infections. The past recalls were on Bausch & Lombs RENU with MoistureLoc contact lens cleaners. It seems that even with recalls and seeing the recall of products for similar reasons the past still repeats at times.
